The company offers extras, including GPS at around $9.99 per day plus surcharges and local tax, and child car seats or booster seats for around $7 per day.

Fox Rent a Car typically uploads new deals on Tuesdays and Wednesday, and these are the days when their Hot Deals are typically lower than on other days.

What does FOXpress do for you?

Well, you can use FOXpress to book, pick-up and exit the rental lot. You get to bypass the lines awaiting assistance the counter, and you can use the app to manage or extend your rental. Need to buy additional fuel, coverage or other services? You can do it from the road using the FOXpress app, which also offers 24/7 customer service as well as roadside assistance. 

FOXpress is good for the environment, too, since there are no paper contracts or receipts to add to the landfills. Most importantly, you have everything you need available to you at the touch of a button. As long as you have a smartphone, a credit card, and a valid drivers licence, you’re good to go. 

Simply download the app and create your FOXpress account profile to complete your booking. 

Most car rentals companies have rewards programs, and Fox Car Rentals has a great one, since you earn money back in the form of SuperCertificates, instead of only giving you points towards a free rental. 

Join the Fox Rewards Program by signing up at the website or one of the company’s corporate locations. For every US dollar you spend (before insurance, taxes and extras), you will earn four points. You can then use your accumulated points towards gift cards or future car rentals. 

SuperCertificates include certificates from hundreds of different vendors, including Macy’s, Bath & Body Works, theaters, spas, hotels, airlines, stores and restaurants. Each 2500 points equals a $25 gift certificate. 

You can also redeem FoxBucks towards car rentals from the website or Fox Corporate locations (not affiliate locations). For 1,600 points, you will get $20 off your rental. 

You must be at least 19 years old and in possession of proper, valid driving credentials to rent a car from a Fox Corporate location. Drivers under the age of 25 will have to pay an additional surcharge of approximately $14 a day (depending on location) as well as local tax and other charges.

The company has different policies based on the state in which the office is located, and rules differ between Corporate and Affiliate locations. You can find out more about the rules applicable to your rental by completing the online form on the company’s website.

You can pay for your car rental from Fox Rent a Car using credit or debit card. The card and the valid drivers license must be in the same name. The car must have minimum funds of $200 or estimated rental charges plus $100. 

There are limitations to where rental cars from certain states may be driven, so be sure to check with the representatives before you leave the lot. Rental cars from the state of Florida may only be driven in Florida, while cars rented in Texas can only be driven in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana and Arkansas.

If you want to drive your rental car to Mexico, you can do that, provided you have purchased the appropriate insurance. If you wish to drive your Fox rental car into Canada, you can only do so if you rented the car from Seattle. 

Vehicles are supplied with fuel, and you must return it with the same amount of fuel in order to avoid refueling charges.

When you rent a car from Fox, the car rentals representative will offer you insurance. You can choose from the following options:

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) – The Loss Damage Waiver will relieve you of financial responsibility in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle. Your quote will include the correct price, which differs from one location and car to the other between $9-$23 per day. 

Rental Liability Protection (RLP) – This insurance protects you against third party bodily injury or property damage claims that arise while you drive a rental car. This costs $12.99 per rental day. 

Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) – This third-party coverage pays for the difference between the primary liability limits under your own personal policy and a maximum combined single limit of one million dollars for property damage or bodily injury. This cover costs between $11.99-$12.99 per day. 

Personal Accident / Personal Effects Protection (PAC) – This insurance provides accidental death and accidental medical expense benefits to renters and their passengers. The cost of this insurance is $4.99 per day.

Based on the Fox Hot Deals page, the company’s discounted daily rates for several locations fall well below  that of its competitors, especially in Miami, Phoenix, San Francisco, Austin, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando. These deals range from $7 daily to approximately $38 a day, making it one of the cheapest car rental companies around.

Their additional offers are competitive as well, which makes it a good option when you’re looking for a cheap car rental and don’t mind renting from airport locations.
